Unidade IV

  • Vocabulário: family, mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, brothers, only child (filho único), wife.
  • Simple present: fatos e hábitos: come from / comes from; negativa: don’t / doesn’t come from.
  • Verbo have: have / has; negativa: don’t have any / doesn’t have any.
  • How many: perguntar quantidade; o substantivo vai no plural (inclusive irregulares, como people).
  • Ex.: She has two sisters. I don’t have any brothers.
  • Ex.: How many people are there?
  • Rosto: head, face, eyes, nose, mouth, hair, ear.
  • Cabelo e olhos: green / blue / brown eyes; black / blond / brown / red hair; short / long hair.
  • Perguntar aparência: What does he/she look like? · What do they look like?
  • Cor e altura: What color is his hair? · Is his hair long or short? · Is he tall or short?
  • Opções e ênfase: or conecta opções; very enfatiza o adjetivo.
  • Ex.: What does he look like? He has very long hair.
  • Ex.: Are his eyes blue or brown?
  • Adjetivos: hardworking (lazy), intelligent (stupid), friendly (unfriendly), busy, serious (funny), good (bad), happy (unhappy).
  • Object pronouns: após in, from, to, for, with: me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
  • Personalidade: What is she like? / What are they like?
  • Advérbios: always: o tempo todo; never: nunca.
  • Ex.: I have a question for him. She is very friendly to me.
  • Ex.: She’s hardworking. They’re friendly. She never smiles.

4. Conhecendo pessoas em um evento de network

  • Empregos: secretary, architect, artist, engineer, sales assistant, teacher, firefighter, doctor, manager, businessman.
  • Perguntas (simple present): Does she work in an office? · Do they live in Korea? · Where does John work? · What do they do? · How many brothers do you have?
  • Reações: Positivas: That’s interesting. / Really? / That’s great! · Neutras: I see. / Uh-huh. / OK. · Simpática: That’s too bad.
  • Ex.: So, what do you do? — I’m a firefighter. How about you? — I’m a doctor.
  • Ex.: What company do you work for? · Do you like your job?
